What is a Flower Share?

I have a lot of different ideas on how to communicate what a flower share is because the Flower Share is very dear to me.

It is my opportunity to connect directly with those that support my family and farm. Because of that it can be a little challenging to put into words just what a Flower Share is, or rather what it means to me.

But essentially the Flower Share means you are sharing in the rewards of the farm to keep it operating, growing, and evolving.

Another term for a farm share is CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture. And that feels a lot more straightforward to explain. It is agriculture supported by the local community.

The farm share model has been in the USA since the 1980s and has grown and evolved to meet the needs of farm communities. But the premise has remained the same, communities support their farms and farms support their communities.

It is a shared commitment to creating a sustainable and fair agricultural environment.

It allows farmers to continue to be stewards of the land and to maintain a productive farm to support the needs of the community around them.

It’s not just a subscription service. It is a direct line from the farm to you.

Every flower you receive  has passed through my hands. I have worked with, and loved, and tended every stem that is put on the delivery truck to make its way to brighten your home.

I love imagining where you put the flowers in your home. Maybe they sit on your desk or they serve as the centerpiece of your family dinners. But no matter where they are in your home, they are to be a contribution to the beautiful environment you are creating in your daily life.

So for me the Flower Share is not simply a weekly task to complete or a certain number of bouquets to make. It is my opportunity to connect with you, to share with you the joy and color  of the farm.

When you become a Flower Share member, you support the farm and share in its harvest, its beauty, and its growth.

Your Flower Farmer,

Heather
