What I was Missing

This morning I walked out to the field and realized something that I had been missing the last year or so. I realized I had never taken the opportunity to fully celebrate my new farm.

Last Fall my family quickly moved onto the farm in Paradise as I finished up the growing season in Salt Lake County. I did my best to settle in to our new home and start making plans for establishing the new farm while also finishing the season.

During Winter I had fun writing out the layout and ordering seeds and selecting perennials for the first time and day dreaming about what the farm would look one day.

And then Spring came and I had the busy task of getting the farm started from scratch and breaking new ground and trying to get it all done in a timely manner. And it felt like things would never really slow down for me.

And now it is Summer and the farm and I have settled into a routine with one other. And while things are busy they are rhythmic. And for the first time I realized I had never really taken the opportunity to celebrate the fact that I finally have my own farm.

But I can celebrate it now. I can cherish the morning harvests and the scent of greenery that seems to never leave my hands. I can celebrate working during sunrise and sunsets and watching just how amazing this landscape is.

And for the first time I feel like I can fully appreciate the farm and all the work it has taken to get here.

And I want to have you out at the farm to share in this celebration.

I am so excited to show you my favorite flowers and the new flowers I am growing for the first time here and the fun and exciting developments that have happened in the last year. I am so excited to share it all with you.
