A Moment in the Field
When I am working with the flowers there is always this moment where I stop what I am doing to stretch my shoulders and lift my head. My intent is small, to just stretch. But when I see the field before me, the flowers growing and blooming all around, my intent shifts to take in the moment.
I only meant to stretch my neck and shoulders as I plant and weed and harvest. But the farm wants to stretch my senses, to lengthen my gaze across the field and see what she has done. The farm wants me to stretch my lungs and breathe in deep the cooling air and the perfume of flowers the wind carries to me.
And a moment to stretch my muscles becomes a moment where my heart is stretched and filled with love given and received, and I feel whole.
Your Flower Farmer,
Heather
